We are thrilled to share that Kids Discovery Factory has been named the Organization of the Year by the Batesville Area Arts Council!

This recognition comes in celebration of our unique partnership on the Backstage Pass Camps and Classes, a program that gave children the opportunity to explore the fascinating behind-the-scenes world of theater production.

The Backstage Pass Program was supported by the Ripley County Community Foundation, through the 2024 Hillenbrand Partnership for Possibilities Grant. These camps and classes invited young learners to step into the technical side of stage production, discovering how science, technology, engineering, art, and math all play a role in bringing a performance to life. From experimenting with special effects makeup to creating soundscapes and exploring set design, participants experienced the magic of creativity fused with STEM.

This program opened doors for local children to learn in new and exciting ways, blending artistic expression with hands-on problem solving. By working alongside industry professionals and collaborating with peers, students gained confidence, teamwork skills, and a deeper appreciation for both the arts and the sciences.

The Batesville Area Arts Council has been an incredible partner in making these opportunities possible, and we are so grateful for their vision and support. Together, we are proving that when arts and sciences unite, kids thrive!

Being named Organization of the Year is an honor that reflects not just our staff, but the countless community partners, families, and young innovators who have joined us on this journey. We are excited to continue expanding opportunities where creativity and discovery meet—on the stage, in the classroom, and soon, in our expanded museum.

Thank you to the Batesville Area Arts Council for recognizing this partnership and for your commitment to enriching our community through the arts.
